Noah's Ark

Sam drew these pictures before church this morning...

Noah's Ark.
The yellow is the lightening during the storm.

The sky is black and blue.
Noah is releasing the dove during the storm.
The ark's door is also open -- a little 3-D effect!

This picture depicts the interior of the ark.
Noah and his family along with some animals.
I think they are getting ready to leave because the ramp is down.

Creative little mind!

Fort Fun!

We met up with friends on Saturday and set out to visit Fort Vancouver.

The boys ran all over the place -- it was a great place to wear them out!

Sam and Andrew hanging out on the cannon.

Checking out the kitchen -- glad we don't
have to cook in a fireplace!

Four boys...four holes...a perfect picture.

Zak was starting to fall in the hole!

Andrew and Sam trying out the headstones
and caskets at the woodworking shop.

Zak climbed in the cradle and rocked himself.

Sam reached over to hold Zak's hand when he fell asleep.
So sweet!

Leaning to the Left

Well, we've always known that Zak was different. He can't help it. He just is.

He is a second-born -- the first one in our household!

He has brown eyes. That's a first for my side of the family.

And now -- he may be left-handed!

See for yourself...

This kid just has to be different!

Art Outside

We had a brief period of sunshine -- so we hurried outside to play.

Sidewalk chalk was a big hit today! We drew outlines of Sam and Zak on the sidewalk and we decorated them. Zak liked making lines anywhere he could and Sam had fun coloring "himself".

Sam wrote out the entire alphabet on the front step.

When it was time to come in -- I had the boys strip down at the garage door -- they were covered in chalk! They proceeded to streak through the house naked while I got their bath ready. It was quite a sight!

Keeping Busy

Matthew has worked a lot the last week, so the boys and I have been trying to keep busy doing fun things.

Sam loves to paint -- so the paints came out and he painted new pictures for all our interior doors. Some might call it a hallway -- we like to call it our gallery.

Fun day with the boys!

Sam working on one of my favorites.

Zak focused on Play-Dough instead of paints -- he tries to
eat the Play-Dough -- so I don't know what he would do with paint!

Sam's car with the speed limit sign -- note the
correct colors for the road -- black for
the street with the yellow and white lines!

Sam was in charge of dinner that night -- so he made pizzas.

Zak is itching to be involved in this process!

Finally, Sam and Zak developed a new game
called "The Light Switch Game". They each stand
at a light switch and flip it on and off as
fast as they can.

It can occupy them for quite a while!

Zak takes a tumble. The Light Switch Game
can be a little rough!

Easter Sunday

It was a great Easter!

We headed to the early service at church and then came home to "watch" Poppy and Grammie's church service on-line. Then it was a yummy breakfast snack to tide us over until dinner.

After naps, the Easter egg hunt was on! The boys went in search of the Easter bunny while I hid eggs in the house. They are pretty sure they just missed seeing him!
They had fun finding eggs -- and Zak really had fun once he realized there were jelly beans inside the eggs!

We spent our afternoon playing, reading, enjoying a yummy dinner and skyping with family.

The boys finished the night by opening up the last two "Resurection Eggs". We have really enjoyed using those all this week.

He is Risen!

The boys all ready for church.

Maybe not!

This was a rousing duet!

Watching Poppy and Grammie's church service.
The camera loved Poppy!

He strikes this pose all the time!
