Two-Handed Birthday!

Sam needs two hands to tell you how old he is -- the big "6"!

We had a crazy week of Vacation Bible Camp -- so we opted for a small family birthday celebration this year.

Sam is a creature of habit -- he picked Red Robin for his birthday dinner, again!

Sundae for the birthday boy!

Corn dogs!

Zak was as excited about presents as Sam!

Just what he wanted -- a two-wheeled scooter!

Quick trip to the park to try it out.

The Biker!

Scooting along!

Next up was a game of golf!

Sam had some great shots!

Zak goes his own way!

Through the legs shot!

The golfing group!

Then there were the water fights!

Grammie didn't let up!

Pizza outside!

Chocolate cupcakes again...third year in a row!

Zak liked them.

He really liked them!

Let's Play T-Ball!

Sam spent the week at T-Ball Camp -- I use the word "camp" pretty loosely -- it was only for one hour a day! He thought it sounded like a lot of fun.

Since he has never played before we picked up a new glove and he played catch with his Dad the night before he started. There were some wild throws -- but he did a pretty good job!

He looks like a ball player!

Practicing...

Ready to start...listening to the rules.

The fans.

Rounding the bases!

Waiting for the go-ahead to run!

Zak's viewpoint!

Sam's ready to play again. We'll see if we can fit one more "camp" into the summer schedule!

Surprise Road Trip!

We've been keeping a secret from the boys for months -- and on Monday it was finally time to spill the beans!

As the boys played we quickly and quietly packed the car. Sam had asked that morning if we could do something special to celebrate Kindergarten Graduation. We said we could probably do something fun. He really wanted to go to the Children's Museum. We said, what if there was something even more fun that we could do?

After lunch we piled in the car -- and Sam wondered why their backpacks were in there -- we didn't usually bring them to the Children's Museum. Then he really began asking questions! He wanted to know if there was anything in the trunk...were we staying in Washington state...how long would we be in the car...were we going to Grammie and Poppy's house...were we going to Grandpa and Nana's house? Then he asked for another clue. We told him we were going somewhere that he had been once before and he thought it was really fun.

This is what he looked like when he figured
out we were going to Great Wolf Lodge!

The boys played so hard for two days and were exhausted! Sam and Zak loved being in the water all day long. Sam went on the raft rides over and over again and Zak could have stayed in the wave pool the entire time.

We had such a great time as a family -- and it was fun to surprise the boys!

The Graduate!

Sam's school year ended with Kindergarten Graduation -- and it was quite a show!

There were four Kindergarten classes and each class picked a song to sing and a verse to share. Then there were a number of group songs -- 'Singing In The Rain' was a real crowd pleaser! It came to a close as they all got in a line and shook Mr. Jensen's hand (the principal - no relation). It was a sweet celebration and made us so thankful that Sam attends King's Way Elementary.

Taking a break during the program.

The Brothers.

Sam & Kenner.

So sad to say goodbye to Mrs. Hennigan!

The proud graduate!

We now have an official first grader on our hands!

Not even Tom & Jerry could keep him awake!

Yard Work Fun!

Matthew has been working hard on our backyard this spring -- and he has two great helpers!

The boys have become experts at finding worms!

This started out as one worm, but Zak
got a little excited showing it off!

"How did that happen?"

This guy is big on bubbles!

Sam's a real helper -- especially if it involves water!

Silly boys!

We All Scream For Ice Cream!

Mormor sent the boys some ice cream money -- so it didn't take much convincing to take a trip to Baskin Robbins!

We all have our favorites -- Mom and Sam love chocolate, Dad likes Butter Pecan and Zak goes for vanilla with sprinkles.

Thanks Mormor, for a fun night out!
