Our California Adventure -- Day Six

Our last full day in California was spent at Disneyland! We weren't sure how long the kids would make it -- we figured we would head back to the hotel mid-afternoon and then Matthew and Sam could go back for a while longer. The kids did so great that we ended up staying all day -- and no one had a meltdown!

For the most part the lines were pretty short and we were able to go on quite a few rides. Sam's favorite ride was Splash Mountain. He and Matthew went on the Matterhorn twice and he loved it! Zak went on as many rides as he could -- his favorite was Small World.

We were able to stay for the evening parade, so we ate our dinner sitting on the sidewalk while we waited for the parade to start. It was great. I don't think Sam had ever seen a parade before and now he is a fan. All the characters and dancers were right in front of us and they asked Sam if he wanted to come out and dance with them -- and he did! I'm not sure who taught him how to dance with such abandon -- certainly not his Mom! He also did the Conga Line and then got to bang on a drum.

It was a long day -- but so much fun. We can't wait to take the boys back when they are older.

Here are a few snapshots from our fun day:

The traditional family shot -- just inside the gates.

The characters were all out when we got there -- Pluto was our first stop.

Matthew and Sam checked out the fire truck in Mickey's Toon Town.

Sam and Zak went on Mr. Toad's Wild Ride -- Sam was not a fan.

Zak's first carousel ride -- he loved it!

Hanging out on Main Street USA.

Zak loved Small World -- we went on it twice.

Mom and Sam on the Teacups -- we went really fast --
Sam couldn't wipe the smile off his face!

Sleepy boy.

Sam is an excellent driver -- this was one of his favorite rides.

Zak taking a little walk before the parade.

Sam was dancing in the streets and having a great time!
